Chapter 3 - Getting Into It

I've been here two weeks, and I think I am finally starting to settle in. I've found a place to stay as of next month. I am a registered resident of Gießen. I will get my work permit next week. I have people that I consider friends. My German is improving quicker than I expected, most of my German friends are impressed with how much I can speak. Natürlich (of course), I still feel like a fool when I say things in German, but I think it will be like that for the next few months. I think it will take me at least a year before I can be at a conversational level. Good thing I am moving in with two German Frauen.

Dancing here is great. We had a guest teacher all of this week, which was a good change from doing ballet everyday. I wish we could do contemporary classes more often. Ballet is good, but it gets a bit boring after 17 years. We are still working on a piece called Cassandra. It seems like it will be interesting, but I'm still not quite sure what it is all about. Honestly, I am just doing steps and I wish I knew the reason behind my movement. Oh well, I'll just keep going and working. My body is slowly but surely getting back in shape. I am losing all the kuih-kuih that I accumulated when I was in Malaysia. I can't wait till I get fit and sexy again.

Photo: My friends, Ina & Victor. Two of the loveliest people I've met here.
